Today was our State Department of Adoption meeting at 11am.  There was no long line like the pictures showed us and we went right in and only had to wait 5 minutes.  It was clear that our translator, Nastya, has a good relationship with these workers.  They chatted in Russian for a few minutes, the worker got Dasha's file and was clearly brushing up on who we were by reading a paragraph in our home study. A picture of Dasha when she was 4 was at the top of the file, she had a different hair cut and looked very cute.  The worker asked if we had other children and we told her two boys and their ages.  She said I looked too young to have a 16 year old which I very much appreciated, ha.  She aslo noticed that my hair was darker than in my passport photo and looked at it closely.  Then she said that Dasha and I look alike.  I liked this lady:)  Then the appointment was over, not much to it, though we did find out that Dasha was born in Lugasnk which will make getting her birth certificate easier since we do not have to travel to a different region  to get it. We came back to the apartment and got ourselves organized after getting up at 10:05am and rushing to meet our ride for our appointment.  Then we walked to find a place to eat lunch, it was very warm.  We both had salads at an open air cafe.  Salads seem safe.  We will meet Vilen tonight for dinner again and I imagine he will want to show us around.  He is so excited to be with us and walked 40 minutes home last night at 11pm, which he said was no big deal, "this is my home" is what he told us.  JR
